Athens, Greece - 5 star hotel from $86 or 64 EUR. We've never been to Athens, but we can just imagine a week of history, culture, and gyros. Mmmmm, gyros!

Tokyo, Japan - 5 star hotel from $101 or 75 EUR. A luxurious trip to Tokyo would probably be just like that movie Lost in Translation, right?

One of our favorite vacation spots on earth is the Riviera Maya.  This is an area in Mexico on the eastern portion of the Yucatan Peninsula, running right along the Caribbean coastline.  It includes fascinating Mayan ruins in Tulum, astounding eco parks in Xcaret, tremendous snorkeling and nightlife in Cozumel, the wonderful bars, restaurants, and beaches of Playa del Carmen, and let's not forget about Cancun!  There's so much to do here, our whole family goes for 2 weeks every July!

If you're looking to visit a popular tourist attraction, but you want to save some money and miss the crowds, we recommend visiting during the off season, also known as the low season.  Nearly all destinations have their popular season (imagine a ski lodge during the winter!) when everyone wants to go, thus driving the prices up.  During other parts of the year, though, you can find great hotel deals in these destinations, offered by the hotels to help  entice visitors.
